Description
Combining Italian travelogue with revelations about the Bard's most famous works, Francesco da Mosto considers Shakespeare's relationship to Italy, where he set many of his greatest love plays. Shakespeare revealed a detailed knowledge of contemporary Italian life, and a deep understanding of the Italian spirit. He traces the Italian stories Shakespeare borrowed from and considers theories on how Shakespeare gained his knowledge of Italy: some say he traveled there during his seven "lost years," others believe that Shakespeare was actually Crollalanza of Sicily.
